Background : Assam State Government is going through a re-design and standardisation of all government websites and online information portals. This project is steered by National Informatics Centre Guwahati under the title of ePrastuti. The mission of this project is to guide the developments in the designing and developing their websites in accordance with the standardisation guidelines. The revised websites will provide a platform for participative practices and open governance for the citizens of the state. This change demands the change in approach of government employees towards user centric experience design.
Scope and Objectives : The Department of Design, IIT Guwahati and NIC, Guwahati centre has planned for a series of advanced training programme for the employees of Government of Assam. The basic objective of this training programme is to discuss basic design thinking and systems thinking principles and concepts. Participants are exposed to design fundamentals and various systems design issues. Fundamentals of interaction design, information architecture, color and typography, image and photography editing, visual ergonomics, heuristic evaluation, usability engineering has been discussed during the programme.

Management Development Programme on Marketing Management
Dates: 24th to 28th September, 2018

Participants: Managers/ Executives of Central Public Sector Enterprises and State Level Public Enterprises.
Scope and Objectives: Marketing Strategy is becoming the major tool for implementing and achieving the strategic goals of the organisation. In the context of corporate strategy, innovative marketing is the key for achieving competitive advantage in current business world. The Central Public Sector Enterprises and State Level Public Enterprises must emphasise on innovative marketing strategies. Such innovative marketing strategies would bring positive and rapid change at different levels of system, product, process and service. After going through this programme, the participants shall have a holistic and integrative view of marketing management. The integration of marketing function with all other functions of the organization was discussed.
The marketing issues and challenges of CPSE and SLPEs has been discussed in details. Operations Management issues are very significant in the marketing function of CPSEs and SLPEs. Therefore the content of the programme has been designed appreciating the relevance and interconnection of operations management and marketing management. Various issues of technology management in marketing perspective has been discussed in the programme.

Scope and Objectives: Projects are becoming the major tool for implementing and achieving the strategic goals of the organisation. In the context of corporate strategy, innovation is the key for achieving competitive advantage in current business world. The Central Public sector Enterprises & State Level Public Enterprises must emphasise on projects in the line of innovation. Such innovative projects would bring positive and rapid change at different levels of system, product, process and service. After going through this programme, the participants could gather a holistic and integrative view of projects and appreciated how Project Management, Innovation and Change Management contributes to the strategic goals of the organisation. Integration starts with the process of selecting innovative projects through consideration of technical and managerial issues of the project for successful planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project. Various issues of technology management were also discussed in the programme. Efforts were made to give overview of computer aided Project Management tools and emerging concepts. Hands on workshops was conducted on MS Project.

The topics discussed were Forecasting, Aggregate Production Planning, Sequencing and Loading, Introduction to Linear Programming, Inventory Control Techniques, Deterministic Inventory Models, Multi-item Deterministic Models, Dynamic Order Quantity; Supply Chain Management, Transportation Model, Critical path Method and Program Evaluation and Review Technique. Many case studies were discussed during the program. The issues of modern technology and system design intervention in Inventory Control and Supply Chain Management were discussed.
